About Beverly MacRae
Beverly MacRae is a Canadian acrylic artist based in Ontario's Kawartha Region.
After a 34 year career as a teacher and school principal in Toronto, Beverly began her formal artistic journey in 2011. What began as a new creative pursuit quickly developed into a serious and evolving painting practice.
Her work has been shaped by study with Canadian artists and teachers. She has participated in plein-air painting experiences throughout Ontario and Quebec, as well as in Provence, France.
Beverly's paintings are inspired primarily by the Canadian landscape and the changing seasons. She is particularly drawn to the dramatic effects of light, reflections on water, strong shadows and the vibrant colours found in nature.
Her work has been exhibited in galleries, group exhibitions, art shows and comunity events throughout Ontario. Her paintings are held in private collections, and she also accepts selected commissions.
Beverly continues to paint regularly from her studio and en plein air, continually exploring new ways to capture the atmosphere and emotion of the landscapes that inspire her.
